Thanks for your interest! I built the cabin about 5 1/2 years ago. It was designed by Jay Lynch Architect and built to code through La Plata County Building Department. I personally lived in the home for three years with my wife and child. We have been renting it for the past two years. And by the way it is not 100% finished; although it is very livable. For example, the interior plaster was stopped at the scratch coat, etc. Additionally, I am also a strawbale builder – check out my website at www.sunpeakbuilders.com I would be happy to give the new owners direction on finishing the plaster etc. or be willing to do it for the new owners.

The cabin is a single story hipped roof structure that is 40 feet x 16 feet which is 640 sqft. (exterior foot print). It is non-load bearing; it is a post and beam system with the strawbales as the infill. There are not any outbuildings. The land is wooded with pinon pine and juniper trees. From the cabin you have great views of the Weminuche Wilderness/Mountains and Los Pinos river valley. As you go further up the property, there is a view of the La Plata Mountains that is spectacular. Additionally, the passive solar is incredibly efficient.
