If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're entertaining the thought of someday purchasing a tiny house. If you're not, you should look into some reasons why one might be a good idea for you.
As you imagine yourself living in a tiny house and going through scenarios of what life would look like, you will almost certainly think to yourself at some point "what will people think?" These people being your friends, family, co-workers and people whose opinion matters enough for you to care.
"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." ~ Aristotle
Whose opinion really matters the most?
Although the people I've spoke with who are planning to buy a tiny house rarely say it, they most certainly care deeply about what others think. I know I did when we purchased our 1970 houseboat that looked like it once aired in an episode of Flipper.
But the simple truth is that at the end of the day, you are paying for where you live. You earn the money and you are the one that must live with your decisions. Only a few things will happen when you tell someone you are buying a tiny house. They won't support you, they will support you, or they will support you, see how living in a tiny house rocks and then buy one for themselves.
Buying and living in a tiny house is somewhat experimental if you look around at everyone else's homes. Maybe it will be a temporary way of living for you. Maybe you'll never go back to living big. Just remember that you live with the decisions you make and everything else is secondary.
