Strawbale house and 18 acres

20 X 24 1 1/2 story strawbale cabin for sale just outside of Ashland WI. House includes 100 watt solar setup- enough to run some lights, a laptop, and an appliance. Also included are a propane range, propane light, gravity fed water system, sun-mar composting toilet, in-floor heat tubes, and vermont castings woodstove. House has two lofts at either end with dropped floor in between adding another 350 square feet of space. Strawbale in-fill construction makes this place extremely well insulated, taking only two cords of wood to heat for the winter. I've been gone for over a week in the winter in below zero weather and never had the house freeze inside. No well on property, but located in area of good wells.

12 acres of great pasture, and about 6 acres of woods with enough red and sugar maple to produce 10-20 gallons of syrup/year, plus there's a 350 gallon double walled stainless steel bulk tank and a 15 gallon stainless boiling pan. Good mix of clay and clay loam soil, wild apple trees, domestic black currants, rhubarb, and almost 70 hybrid hazelnuts. It's about a five minute drive/10 minute bike ride into town, only about 2 miles to lake superior and chequamegon bay. Great neighbors including Freehands Farm- a sustainable PYO raspberry/ ornamental/ and greenhouse business. Local community is open, friendly, and supportive of homegrown farm products, wonderful place to live- my family and I would be there still but we've relocated to be close to the grandparents.
Viewings are welcome, just call me beforehand
